The GDC Project was founded by Tim McGrath and Gary McGrath with one mission:
to create a clear, supportive, and accessible pathway to long-term recovery for individuals and families affected by addiction.

Every decision we make honors the legacy of Gabriella DiMare Cartagena and reflects our commitment to education, coaching, and community support.
Our Board of Directors ensures strong governance, transparency, and the strategic leadership required to expand our impact.

Founder & President — Tim McGrath

Provides organizational leadership, long-term vision, and strategic direction. Oversees program development, partnerships, and mission alignment.
Additional Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Director of Programs & Education: Designs and oversees coaching curriculum, online courses, workshops, and long-term recovery pathways.

  • Chief Financial Officer: Works with the Treasurer to guide budgeting, financial planning, and sustainable growth.

Secretary & Treasurer — Stephen Dixon

Responsible for organizational records, meeting minutes, and legal compliance. Manages financial stewardship and reporting with transparency and integrity.
Additional Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Director of Fundraising & Development: Manages fundraising campaigns, donor relations, events, Giving Tuesday efforts, and grant opportunities.

  • Director of Community Outreach: Builds relationships with recovery centers, local organizations, volunteers, and the broader community.

Co-Founder & Vice President — Gary McGrath

Supports the President in strategic planning and operational leadership.
Leads major initiatives related to community partnerships, recovery outreach, and donor engagement. Ensures all programs remain grounded in the mission and accessible to the families we serve.
